John Packer Photo

Qualifications:
BSc(Hons) Environmental Engineering
Chartered Engineer
Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers
European Engineer

Position:
Non-Executive Director

Brief CV: Following graduation John worked for a number of years as a Design Engineer, primarily with design and build contractor Towco Ltd, being responsible for the design, co-ordination, supervision of installation and commissioning of the whole range of building services installations. The following 4 years at The Electricity Council proved to be pivotal, the process of carrying out detailed field trials on HVAC systems to determine their 'real-life' performance was a precursor to the current 'sustainability' movement. The principle objective at that time was to establish very low energy buildings and systems that could use electricity as a fuel economically, employing the likes of super insulation and heat pumps long before they became mainstream in the UK. John returned to mainstream design in 1987 with Sir Frederick Snow & Partners, rising to Divisional Director, responsible for the delivery of high value prestigious projects as part of their multi-discipline team. Utilising the experience obtained at Snows John established John Packer Associates in 1991. The Practise has established its reputation by providing a first class service and working as an expert pro-active member of the design team. Following the sale of JPA in 2006 John has worked as a Consultant, in both Construction and Business Management, helping organisations to realise their potential.
